The Public Schools Athletic League, known by the acronym PSAL, is an organization that promotes student athletics in the public schools of New York City. It provides and maintains a sports program for students enrolled in New York City public schools. The PSAL serves both boys and girls. PSAL holds competitions in a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports in Fall, Winter and Spring seasons.

The mission of the Public Schools Athletic league is to provide opportunities for educating students in physical fitness, character development and socialization skills through an athletic program that fosters teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.

Middle College High School athletics is affiliated with International High School and Robert F. Wagner High School located in Long Island City, NY. All teams play under the Robert F. Wagner banner. We offer participation in 13 sports during the school year. All students are required to hand in a parental permission slip and yearly physical to participate.

Started during the 2015-2016 school year by our neighbors at International HS at LaGuardia Community College, our cheerleading squad is now a fully integrated club at Middle College HS and International HS starting in the 2016-2017 school year. The clubs main goal is to spread school spirit, but also to build leadership, confidence and team building skills for its members. The squad is self funded and is always looking for support from the local community.
